Quirky (age of building related)but comfortable room. Some noise from the main bar below in the evening but not excessive. Ideal position for the town and area. Nice freshly cooked breakfast.

Freshly ground coffee would be a nice addition at breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised with a fantastic twin room and loved the convenient location near a restaurant and the Essex Golf and Country Club.

The room was cosy with a kettle, central heating and an iron included. The bed was lovely, my stay lasted for 1 night. The venue was set in the central position just next door to Clacton/London/Cambridge, restaurant and the centre of Halstead which has a good high street for a stroll.

Despite encountering a few unhelpful staff members, my stay was genuinely enjoyable with its modern and efficient amenities like the practical shower.

This place has a great location, right near the city center, and convenient access to buses going to and from Braintree railway station, with modern and practical rooms featuring en suite bathrooms.

Very old hotel but it was convenient for us near our wedding venue.We just ordered a cab which the staff did for us.Very good breakfast next morning before we left for home.

As we arrived early our room was not ready which was ok as we just wanted to change for the wedding we were going to.As bed was stripped we did notice the mattress was very stained which was a bit offputting. Towel rail was hanging off the wall in bathroom and shower was a bit worse for wear.As we had a room in main part of hotel was a bit noisy from the pub below though that did stop at 1am.Early noise from traffic as we overlooked the street.

It was 10 minutes' walk to Gosfield Lakes Golf Club. - Our double room had central heating, an iron, and a coffee/tea maker. - Got a quick breakfast often included.
